Editing and Publishing

On the right-hand side there are buttons labeled "Dashboard, My Account, Help and Sign out".

The Dashboard is basically a control center where you can view blogs that you've created, view and edit your profile as well as editing your notifications. Dashboard also the place where you create a new blog later on. There are also a "Reading List" section in this Dashboard. You can add other blogger's blogs for your reading and get an idea how others doing their blogs. Finally at the end of the Dashboard page you will see the "Other Stuff" section where there are links to other Google services that might be helpful for you later on.

The next button that I will explain is the "My Account" button. In My Account you will see four sections namely "Profile, Personal Settings, My Products and Try Something New". Again the Profile and Personal Settings are buttons you will use to edit or update your profile. My Products is the section where you can find all Google Products that you've been using. At the moment you probably will see "Blogger" buttons available in this section. There are a lot other Google Products that can be put on this section later on for your convenience. The final section on this page is Try Something New. This is a place where Google promoted their Google Products and you probably want to try them because most of them are free :)

I will not explain the Help and Sign out buttons as they speak their own functions :p

Tabs Function on Your Blog...

The first tab is Posting and the sub-tabs are New Post, Edit Posts and Comment Moderation. The Comment Moderation sub-tab will lead you to Comment Settings. In Comment Settings, you can set how a comment will look like when someone place a comment on your post.

The next tab is Setting. The sub-tabs for Setting are Basic, Publishing, Formatting, Comments, Archiving, Site Feed, Email & Mobile, OpenID and Permissions. I will not explain on each of these sub-tabs. Explore and learn on your own is better than my explanation.

Compose or Edit HTML?

Newbie like myself will always be using the Compose option when posting. However if you have experience in HTML you might using it. I know few HTML but they are not used in this section. They are useful when you want to add your meta tag or some people call it keyword into your blog. We will learn that later on. As for now we will just stick to the simplest way provided in here.

Editing Buttons...

If you know how to use Microsoft Words then not much I have to explain here. These buttons are mostly represent what it can do. So just play around with them..

Publishing/Save Your Post

Finally at the end of the page you will see the PUBLISH POST and SAVE NOW buttons. After you done with your editing, just click on the Publish Post to post your blog. If you still need to do some editing then use the Save Now button and your progress will be saved as draft. You can edit later on by going to Posting (main tab) > Edit Posts (sub tab)

Okay, so I see you in the next lesson... Please come back for more...
